The Importance of Routine Professional Duct Cleaning Services for Your Levittown, PA Home

You rely on your HVAC system on a regular basis to keep your Bucks County home comfortable and safe. When the heat and humidity spike, the air conditioning keeps things cool, when the cold weather arrives, the heat keeps you warm, and the ventilation that the system provides maintains comfortable humidity levels throughout the year. In other words, your HVAC system is exceptionally important.

Like any other appliance you rely on, your HVAC system needs to be properly maintained, and regular duct cleaning is part of that maintenance. The ductwork collects untreated air and distributes climate-controlled air throughout your entire Bucks County house. It also picks up small particles that float through the air, like dirt, dust, dander, pollutants, and pathogens, and over time, those small particles can build up, obstruct the ductwork, and impact the efficiency of your heating, cooling, and ventilation system. It can also negatively impact your indoor air quality.

If neglected, dirty ductwork can cause a range of problems, including unpleasant smells, increased allergy symptoms, increased respiratory illnesses, and can even spark a fire. In order to avoid these issues, investing in regular duct cleaning services is a must.

Here’s a look at some of the top reasons why professional Levittown, PA air duct cleaning services are so important.

A Healthier Environment

Nothing is more important than your health, and believe it or not, your HVAC system’s ductwork can have a direct impact on your health. Every time the system kicks on, the dirt and debris that’s trapped inside the ducts loosen, blows through the vents, and is distributed throughout your Bucks County house. The particles that are floating throughout the air can include dust, pet dander, odors-causing particles, mold, mildew, pathogens, and even microplastics. As you can imagine, breathing in those particles can negatively impact your health. If you or someone in your family suffers from allergies or a respiratory condition, such as asthma or COPD, the symptoms may worsen; however, you don’t have to have pre-existing conditions to experience the consequences of breathing in dirty air.

House on Fire from Dryer Vent

By investing in regular duct cleaning, you’ll dramatically increase your Bucks County home’s indoor air quality. A reputable Levittown, PA air duct cleaning professional will use the most advanced technologies, state-of-the-art cleaning agents, and proven techniques and strategies to make sure that your ductwork is thoroughly cleaned so that you and your family can breathe freely – and remain healthy.

A Cleaner Environment

The air isn’t the only thing that is negatively impacted by dirty ductwork; so is the rest of your Bucks County house. All of the contaminants that build up inside the air ducts become dislodged whenever the system kicks on, they circulate through the air, and they land on the surfaces throughout the interior of your home; the countertops, furniture, bedding, floors, shelves, and so much more. If you find that you’re cleaning more than usual, or as soon as you finish cleaning, everything seems to be coated with a film of dirt and dust, dirty air ducts could be to blame.

With regular duct cleaning services, you’ll enjoy a cleaner home. A Levittown, PA duct cleaning technician will expertly remove all caked-on dirt and debris from inside the air ducts so that fewer particles will be circulating throughout the air, and less dust, dirt, and debris will accumulate on the surfaces in your home.

Fewer Odors

Believe it or not, your Bucks County HVAC system’s ductwork impacts the smell of your home. Dirt, debris, and dust aren’t the only things that accumulate inside the air ducts; odor-causing particles collect on the interior of the ducts, too. Things like food aromas, pet odors, paint, perfumes, soaps, smoke, and bathroom odors can all get trapped inside the ductwork. When the HVAC system kicks on, those particles are disturbed, blow through the vents, and are distributed throughout your house. As you can imagine, when those odors are combined, they can become quite unpleasant. By investing in duct cleaning services on a regular basis, those foul odor-causing particles will be eliminated, and your home will smell a lot fresher.

Improved Efficiency

As dirt and debris build up inside the ductwork, eventually, it can become so dense that it can minimize air circulation. When air circulation is poor, your heating and cooling system will have to work harder to produce the temperature that’s set on the thermostat. The harder the system works, the more energy it will need to use, and the more energy the system uses, the higher your utility bills will be.

In order to ensure that your HVAC system is operating as efficiently as possible, hiring a Levittown, PA air duct cleaning professional on a regular basis is highly recommended. A duct cleaning expert will remove all of the built-up debris, which will improve air circulation, and thus, will improve the efficiency of your entire system.

Some information about Levittown, PA

Levittown (L-Town) is a census-designated place (CDP) and planned community in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, United States, within the Philadelphia metropolitan area. The population was 52,983 at the 2010 census. It is 40 feet (12 m) above sea level. Though not a municipality, it is sometimes recognized as the largest suburb of Philadelphia in Pennsylvania. Starting with land purchased in 1951, it was planned and built by Levitt & Sons. The brothers William Levitt and architect Alfred Levitt designed its six typical houses.

The majority of the land on which it is built was purchased in 1951. Levitt and Sons only built six models of houses in Levittown, all single-family dwellings with lawns: the Levittowner, the Rancher, the Jubilee, the Pennsylvanian, the Colonial and the Country Clubber, with only modest exterior variations within each model. The homes were moderately priced and required only a low down payment. Construction of Levittown began in February 1952, soon after completion of Levittown, New York, located on Long Island. Levittown, Pennsylvania was the second ‘Levittown’ built by William J. Levitt, who is often credited as the creator of the modern American suburb. To speed up construction, Levitt & Sons perfected a 26-step rationalized building method that was essentially an assembly line type of home building. The house remained stationary, while the construction workers moved from house to house. Each worker had one task such as pouring slabs, framing, installing electric sockets or installing washing machines. This highly regimented process enabled Levitt’s workers to produce a finished house every 16 minutes. Construction of the homes commenced in 1952 and when completed in 1958, 17,311 homes were built.

What set Levittown apart from other developments at the time was that it was built as a complete community. Levitt & Sons designed neighborhoods with traffic-calming curvilinear roads, in which there were no four-way intersections. Each neighborhood had within its boundaries a site donated by Levitt & Sons for a public elementary school. Locations for churches and other public facilities were set aside on main thoroughfares such as the Levittown Parkway, likewise donated by the builder to religious groups and other organizations. Other amenities included Olympic-sized public pools, parks, ‘greenbelts’, baseball fields and playgrounds, and a shopping center located in neighboring Tullytown borough that was considered large and modern at the time of its construction (and in fact was the largest east of the Mississippi). The first set of four sample homes were put on display in a swatch of land near the future Levittown Shop-a-Rama, and an estimated 30,000 people viewed them in that first weekend.

Residents (who are sometimes called Levittowners) were first expected to comply with a lengthy list of rules and regulations regarding the upkeep of their homes and use of their property. Two of these ‘rules’ included a prohibition on hanging laundry out to dry on Sunday and not allowing homeowners to fence off their yards. These proved unenforceable over time, particularly when backyard pools became financially accessible to the working class and privacy concerns drove many to fence off their yards. In the years since Levitt & Sons ended construction, three- and four-story ‘garden apartments’ and a number of non-Levitt owner-occupied houses have been built in Levittown.
