3 Questions to Ask When You’re Interviewing Northampton, PA Gas Fireplace Companies Near Me

If you have a gas fireplace, it’s undoubtedly one of the most beloved features of your Bucks County home. While there’s no denying that a gas fireplace is a wonderful asset, if it’s damaged, it can quickly become a serious liability.

Defective pilot lights, poor airflow, soot buildup, damaged blower fans, and gas leaks; are just some of the problems that a gas fireplace can experience. It goes without saying that the safety of your family and your Bucks County home is a top priority, which is why, when issues arise, having the structure fixed by a gas fireplace repair professional as soon as possible is an absolute must.

But since fireplace safety is so crucial, you don’t want to hire just anyone; you want to make sure you hire the most reliable professional. How do you do that? By consulting with a few different Fireplace Companies Near Me and asking some key questions.

Here’s a look at three key questions that you should ask when you’re interviewing prospective Northampton, PA fireplace repair contractors.

What kind of training do you have?

To ensure you receive efficient, reliable results, you want to make sure you hire a gas fireplace repair contractor that has been properly trained. Certifications from the National fireplace Institute and the Chimney Safety Institute of America are two signs that a reputable Northampton, PA fireplace repair contractor has received the appropriate training. In order to be certified by these professional organizations, gas fireplace repair technicians must complete comprehensive training.

What type of equipment do you use?

The tools and equipment of a gas chimney repair professional’s trade have a direct impact on the level of service that they will be able to provide. For a Northampton, PA fireplace repair contractor to deliver safe, reliable, and long-lasting results, the appropriate and most advanced tools and equipment must be used. Make sure to ask Fireplace Companies Near Me if they can provide you with an overview of the tools and equipment they use.

Are you fully insured?

Fireplace Cleaning and Repairs in Bucks County, NY

Last but certainly not least, before you hire a gas fireplace repair contractor, you want to find out if they’re fully insured. Any number of things could go wrong while the contractor is working on your gas fireplace; they could damage the appliance or your Bucks County property, or they could sustain an injury while they’re fixing your fireplace. In the event that anything does go wrong, the contractor’s insurance will cover the related costs.

If they aren’t insured, you’re probably going to end up footing the bill – and that bill could be quite exorbitant. Ask the Northampton, PA fireplace repair professionals you’re thinking about hiring if they’re insured and if they can provide you with proof of their insurance.

Some information about Northampton, PA

Northampton is a borough in Northampton County, Pennsylvania, part of the Lehigh Valley region.

Northampton and surrounding areas of the Lehigh Valley are rich in limestone, which is commonly used in the production of cement. The Atlas Portland Cement Company, based here from 1895 to 1982, was the world’s largest cement company at one time, and one of dozens in the area. It produced some 8 million barrels of cement for construction of the Panama Canal, most of what was used on the project. Atlas was bought by another company in 1980 and ceased operation here in 1982; its last smokestack here was demolished in 1993. Today technology and automation mean that the cement industry can manufacture a great amount of product with 150-200 workers, rather than the thousands who worked in these plants earlier in the 20th century.

The Atlas Memorial Cement Museum, which was opened in 1997 here, was founded by Edward Pany, who worked at the company in summers during the 1950s. His father, an immigrant from Austria, worked all his life at Atlas. Immigrant workers from Poland, Ukraine, and other eastern European nations also worked here. The museum commemorates the importance of this industry and Atlas Cement in the area.
